Craggan Outdoor Centre

View from Main HouseCraggan was constructed in 1975 as the Outdoor Centre of The Edinburgh Battalion. It is now run by the Edinburgh, Leith and District Battalion. At the end of 2005 the centre was closed to allow a programme of major redevelopment and refurbishment work to be under taken, this work being completed by April 2006.

The site Craggan sits on extends from the road way to the loch side commanding magnificent views on the three landward sides with a similar view to Loch Tay and the majestic Ben Lawers (1214 metres). There is also a landing jetty accessible from the sand/shingle beach.

The centre is ideally situated for groups of all ages with ready access to many facilities in the locality and is well suited for water activities, hill walking and group holidays.

Accommodation

The accommodation consists of the Main House and the Camp Site all of which are available for use in part or as a whole by the B.B. and outside groups on a self catering basis.

The newly redeveloped/refurbished house consists of a lounge, 4 bed rooms sleeping up to 20, 4 staff rooms sleeping up to 8, and a disabled access room sleeping up to 2, a kitchen and toilet facilities. Plans showing the layout of the main house are available here, plans showing the layout before the work are available here. Further details on the main house can be found here.

The Camp site in it's own secluded space can hold 6 lightweight tents for camping. The camp site is located to the side of the main house and has it's own water supply.
